The traditional blank for making origami figures is a square of paper. Just from it you can make a heart, shown in today’s master class. There are several variants of creating such a figure in origami. I will show the simplest variant, which will not take much time – how to make an easy origami heart.
An easy origami heart
Total Time: 15 minutes
Step 1: Get the material
Prepare a square of red paper.
Step 2: Make a rectangle out of the square
Fold the square in half.
Step 3: Fold the square again and unfold it
Then fold the square the same way in the other direction and unfold it. You should see these folds at right angles on the piece, i.e. crosswise.
Step 4: Fold the edge of the square toward the center
Fold the bottom side of the square to the center line.
Step 5: Flip the square back and 180 degrees
Flip the piece to the other side so that the fold is on top of the inverted side.
Step 6: Make a triangle from the top corners of the square
Fold the side top corners to the vertical center line.
Step 7: Work on the reverse side
Flip the craft over to the other side.
Step 8: Fold the left and right sides toward the center
Fold the sides toward the center. Your craft is now shaped like a house.
Step 9: Flip the blank 180 degrees
Turn it over so that the sharp corner is at the bottom. Fold the top corners toward the center line.
Step 10: Fold the top corner down
Now tuck the top corner into the pocket at the bottom of the craft. Carefully unfold the small folds in the center from the top, giving them the shape of symmetrical triangles.
Step 11: Fold the upper left and right corners
To finalize the heart shape, fold the side corners inward.
Step 12: Finish the craft
You should have an origami heart like this.
